Mobile Tractor Trailer Mechanic

As a Mobile Technician, you perform basic-level maintenance and repairs on J.B. Hunt tractors, trailers, chassis, containers and power equipment. This is a field-based role, servicing tractor-trailer equipment at customer sites and rail yards using a mobile service truck in the Richland area.

The hourly pay range for this position is: $26.43 to $35.27. $3,000 sign-on bonus available for a limited time. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs (tires, brakes, electrical, structural), including chassis and frame repairs, patching trailer and container panels and roofs
• Inspect equipment and document damage for repair estimates and complete associated work orders with proper repair documentation
• Perform AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections
• Diagnose and repair ABS systems
• Operate and maintain mobile service truck and inventory

Qualifications:

• Candidates must be at least 18 years old
• At least 1 years of hands-on mechanic experience servicing semi-trucks and/or trailers or military equivalent
• Clean motor vehicle record
• Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through J.B. Hunt purchasing program

Preferred Qualifications:

• DOT certifications in FHWA inspections and air brakes
• Welding certification
• Forklift certification and experience
• EPA Section 608 certification and refrigeration license
