Job Description:

• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and complex repairs as it pertains trailer maintenance, air brake systems and FHWA Inspections

• Troubleshoot trailer issues and accurately perform the most difficult repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders, and exceed company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines

• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairs

• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures

• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers at all times

• Complete secondary maintenance on escalated repairs

• May troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair specialized trailer equipment, such as refrigerated units

• May onboard and mentor new technician trainees; act as team lead to coordinate shift support and tasks

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age with 2 or more years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent

• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes

• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program

• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements

• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed

• EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration license and advanced welding skills (MIG and stick) are a plus

• Knowledge of ABS systems
