Demonstrate advanced knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and complex repairs as it pertains trailer maintenance, air brake systems and FHWA Inspections
Troubleshoot trailer issues and accurately perform the most difficult repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders, and exceed company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
Participate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairs
Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers at all times
Complete secondary maintenance on escalated repairs
May troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair specialized trailer equipment, such as refrigerated units
May onboard and mentor new technician trainees; act as team lead to coordinate shift support and tasks
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age with 2 or more years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes
Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed
EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration license and advanced welding skills (MIG and stick) are a plus
Knowledge of ABS systems
