FIREFIGHTER / PARAMEDIC Employment Opportunity The Board of Fire Commissioners of the Northwest Homer Fire Protection & Ambulance Service District are seeking applicants to establish an eligibility list for Full-time Firefighter/Paramedics

Applications available at: Northwest Homer FPD Station #1 16152 West 143rd Street, Lockport, IL 60491 Monday-Friday 8:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. September 21 - October 2, 2026

Deadline for turning applications in is Friday, October 2, 2026, at 3p.m.

Orientation & Written Exam will be held at Northwest Homer Station #1

Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 Orientation begins promptly at 9:00a.m.

Written exam - 9:30a.m.

Subjective Oral Interviews - Date & Time to be announced Applicants must be high school graduates or equivalent: must be at least 21 to 35 years of age unless otherwise exempt by statute and licensed EMT-B. Upon offer of employment, Illinois Certified Firefighter Basic, Illinois Licensed Paramedic, and CPAT Certified (current within last 12 months) Applicants shall be subjected to a background check, and medical examination post offer of employment.

Starting Salary as of 06/2026 - $91,525 NOTE: THERE IS A $40.00 NON-REFUNDABLE PROCESSING FEE Cash or Check only Northwest Homer Fire Protection District is an EOE
