Job Purpose: Transports raw materials for various departments within the Conway Division, loading and/or unloading trailers on an as needed basis, while promoting and maintaining a safe and efficient departmental operation. Operates equipment as needed to maintain the grounds of the facilities. Essential Functions: Loads and/or unloads trailers on an as needed basis Transports raw materials, work in process goods, and finished good to departments with the Conway facility on an as needed basis. Transports outside vendor loads to all Conway locations. Ensures all trailers are chocked and stands are placed under 26-foot trailers. Operates equipment such as backhoe, tractor/bush hog, and bob cat as well hand power tools and landscape equipment Verifies the condition of vehicles by performing pre-trip inspections Maintains DOT driver logs and related records when required Complies with established company policies and standards Performs overtime as assigned. Performs general housekeeping duties. Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES Required Qualifications: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Must be at least 21 years old. Must have at least one year prior experience driving tractor-trailers Must have a valid class A commercial driver’s license. Must have a clear driving record. Must be DOT certified. Must have good communication skills, good basic mathematical skills, and good analytical abilities. Must have good teamwork skills, meet quality requirements, be flexible, and be able to meet and maintain performance standards. Must be able to pass a forklift-driving test to become an authorized forklift driver. Must be motivated and capable of working without direct supervision but also to function as a team player. Must be able to adjust physically to extreme heat and cold weather. Preferred Qualifications: Must be able to drive and proficiently operate a backhoe, tractor/bush hog and bobcat (skid steer.) Must be able to operate a scale, baler and compactor. Must be able to proficiently use hand power tools and landscaping equipment, including but not limited to weed eaters, blowers, hedge clippers, chain saws, push power mowers, tillers, and zero turn mowers. Must possess the ability to mix and spray chemicals, including weed killer and herbicide Must be able to use air and electric tools. ADA Requirements: Must be able to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds to overhead level, to routinely push and/or pull up to 200 pounds with assistance, and to routinely bend, stoop, and/or climb. Must wear applicable and proper protective equipment including, but not limited to, protective eye and/or hearing equipment to safely perform job duties.
