Lateral Entry Level Patrol Officer

The City of Monroe is now accepting applications for Lateral Entry Level Patrol Officer

HIRING PROCESS:

The lateral entry hiring process will consist of a panel interview, full background check, and other testing as determined appropriate. 

**Full-time experience is defined as a minimum of 32 hours worked per week for 9 of the previous 12 months prior to submission of an application or appointment with the City of Monroe.

Candidates receiving a conditional offer of employment will be subject to successful completion of the following:

• Background Investigation
• Truth Verification/CVSA
• Physical & Drug Screening
• Psychological Assessment

The hiring process can take 4 to 6 months, up to a full year to complete. *Timeline subject to change.

Applicants can reapply up to 3 times for the same position.

• Completion of Secondary Education or Equivalent (high school diploma or GED).
• Completion of Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy.
• One year **full-time experience with a law enforcement agency, conducting uniformed police patrol, or other comparable duties with arresting powers while employed by the State of OH or one of its political subdivisions.
• Valid drivers license.
• Applicants that have had disciplinary action in the past 12 months that resulted in suspension or loss of pay, will not be considered.
• Out of state candidates will be considered if their current certification can be transferred to the State of OH and complete all required training.

Total Compensation:

• $77,939 - $94,295 Based on Years of Experience
• 4 on 2 off schedule 8.5 hour shifts
