Job Description

Medication Access Coordinator - Beatrice Family & Internal Medicine Job Duties: Provide support and assistance to patients and provider teams to overcome barriers to medication access, with expertise in third party prior authorization and billing processes for pharmacy benefits. Prepare and process medication refill requests according to signed protocols. Assist patients with identification and enrollment into medication assistance programs and communicate any financial responsibilities. Gather and effectively communicate medical and medication histories including diagnosis, test results, lab values and previous medication histories to third party payers. Verify eligibility, pharmacy benefit provisions and support the appeals process. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Has never been convicted of a drug-related misdemeanor or felony. Must be at least 18 years of age. Currently licensed as a pharmacy technician or Medication Aide 40-hour with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. 1 year healthcare experience required, 2-3 years preferred.
