COMPENSATION: Full time Position, non-exempt; Salary range $57,000-$64,000 depending on experience. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance; generous retirement benefits; vacation and sick timel flexible schedule with part-time remote options available. Some travel required.

MISSION
United Way of Chautauqua County (UWCHQ) mobilizes the community to help every person and family improve their lives. UWCHQ has an annual fundraising campaign of $1.8 million and currently invests in 38 community partners and local programs working around collective outcomes in Youth Opportunity, Health Equity, Community Resiliency, and Self Sufficiency.
JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Growth & Engagement is responsible for expanding UWCHQ's base of support by driving revenue growth and deepening relationships with donors, partners, and the broader community. This role leads strategies that increase financial and volunteer engagement while aligning messaging, partnerships, and organizational priorities. Working closely with the Executive Director and internal teams, the Director identifies and cultivates opportunities for investment and engagement, oversees sponsorship and event strategy, and ensures a consistent, compelling community presence that advances UWCHQ's mission and long-term sustainability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential Function 1: Revenue Growth and Strategy. Develop resources to grow annual campaign and diversify revenue sources.
* Identifies potential donors and strategically cultivates relationships.
* Uses data and insights to inform relationship development and growth strategies.
* Serves as a spokesperson and relationship-builder in external settings, primarily in workplace campaigns presentations.
* Oversees and secures sponsorships that support United Way events and initiatives.
* Supports organization's grant-writing efforts.
* Recognizes the power of stewardship - thanking donors, informing them about the impact of their gifts, keeping them apprised of progress on the community priorities.
* Creates a positive image - is enthusiastic, positive, charismatic, and can generate trust of donors. Represents United Way at professional and community events in a leadership role.
Essential Function 2: Donor and Partner Engagement. Cultivate relationships, develop strategic partnerships and implement donor engagement events and initiatives.
* Builds and stewards relationships with donors, corporate partners, and key stakeholders.
* Creates meaningful pathways for engagement that deepen connection and long-term support, as well as executes on current donor engagement events and strategies.
* Identifies opportunities to best engage volunteers.
* Provides oversight and coordination for affinity groups.
Essential Function 3: Organizational Collaboration and Execution. Align donor engagement and resource development with community impact initiatives, communication strategies, and overall operational priorities.
* Works effectively with other functions, staff members and key volunteers to ensure a consistent and aligned approach to engagement and resource development.
* Oversees organizational major events planning and coordination.
* Assists with organizational project management and annual goal setting/planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's Degree preferred (business, communications, marketing, public relations or related field); or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in fundraising, sales, marketing or nonprofit work preferred.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, including comfort with public speaking and presentations.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively relate to a diverse audience.
* Superb organizational and time management abilities. Must be able to prioritize and manage numerous projects from inception to completion.
* High energy team player; able to work effectively cross functionally.
* Proficiency in general computer skills, technology and familiarity with a variety of platforms and tools.
* Bilingual skills a plus.
