Maintenance Mechanic I

Mechanicsburg Area School District is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I, effective immediately. This is a full-time (52 weeks per year, 8 hours per day) position. Perform routine maintenance on school buildings, grounds, and equipment as directed by the Facilities Director. Assist Maintenance Mechanic II staff with complex maintenance tasks when needed. Responsible for various cleaning assignments in the school district as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: • High school graduate or equivalent. • Must have a valid driver's license. • Must have the skills needed in the use of basic hand and power tools in order to perform maintenance work. • Must have knowledge of general maintenance procedures and the skills to be able to perform basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical tasks. • Be available in emergency situations as required by the employer. • Be a team player, and work collaboratively with coworkers and district stakeholders.
