Science Teacher

SCIENCE TEACHERS                                                                                                                                

We are currently seeking Science teachers for the high school. These are full-time probationary positions. Applicants should be highly qualified (NYS certified) applicants in Biology (Gr 7-12) However, we will consider individuals who are currently in the process of obtaining their NYS certification and will be certified within the school year.

• Knowledge of NYS Instructional Standards in science and differentiated instructional strategies
• Excellent student engagement skills with a goal of achieving mastery through a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to each student
• Effective classroom management skills
• Excellent parent engagement and relationship building skills
• Participates with colleagues as a collaborative team player
• Understands urban schools and communities
• Supports the district goals of equity, literacy and graduation concerning all students
• Ability to inspire students to learn and make learning fun
• Models a growth mindset

Excellent benefits including NYS retirement; salary is based upon experience and the CTA contract range is from $48,904 to 62,014
