Put your accounts receivable experience to work with a growing company. Abel Personnel is recruiting an Accounts Receivable Specialist who enjoys accurate accounting work and professional customer communication. This opportunity combines daily payment processing, billing accuracy checks, account research, and collections follow-up.

You’ll work with Finance, Sales, and Project Management to keep customer accounts accurate and help resolve issues that delay payment. This is a hands-on AR opportunity with potential for permanent employment following the temporary assignment. Conversion is not guaranteed.

What You’ll Do

• Apply customer payments and deposits to the correct invoices and accounts, process daily deposits, and send payment receipts.
• Review completed work to identify missing or incorrect billing. Coordinate corrections with Sales and Project Management, who primarily generate invoices.
• Research unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and account balances while maintaining accurate customer records.
• Answer customer questions about invoices, payments, and balances.
• Follow up on overdue accounts by telephone and email, document payment commitments, and escalate difficult issues appropriately.
• Support daily account and merchant-payment reconciliations and keep recurring responsibilities organized.

What You Bring

• Hands-on accounts receivable experience, including cash application, payment posting, billing accuracy, and account discrepancy resolution.
• Customer communication and basic collections experience, with comfort proactively calling customers about overdue invoices.
• Experience using accounting software or an ERP system, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
• Accurate recordkeeping, organization, consistent follow-through, and confidentiality when handling financial information.

Helpful Background
The target background is approximately two to four years of relevant accounting experience. Manufacturing, construction, fabrication, distribution, or project-based experience is helpful but not required. General ledger reconciliation, month-end reporting, and purchasing or inventory support are additional strengths, not prerequisites. Experience with a specific accounting platform is not required.

Work Environment
This onsite position is primarily office-based. Occasional visits to manufacturing or material-storage areas and occasional business travel may be required.
