Omega G is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Controller to help establish and manage its financial operations as the business grows. This is an opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to take ownership of core accounting functions, work closely with leadership, and make a meaningful impact in an entrepreneurial environment.

About the Role

The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting and financial reporting while helping develop the processes, systems, and controls needed to support a growing business. The ideal candidate has at least 1–2 years of experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar role and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with direct access to the c-suite.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in software, technology, or startup environments, as well as individuals with military service or Division I collegiate athletics backgrounds who demonstrate exceptional discipline, ownership, and a strong work ethic.  Or, those who possess an "athlete's mentality" even if they were not college athletes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures.
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, expenses, and financial performance.
• Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning in partnership with company leadership.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting processes, and financial systems.
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide actionable financial insights.
• Help build scalable financial infrastructure to support the company's continued growth.

Required Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or comparable accounting and finance role.
• Versed in basic artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, personal accountability, and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with company leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for a startup, high-growth business, software company, or technology organization.
• Military service or a Division I collegiate athletics background.
• Experience implementing or improving accounting processes, systems, and internal controls.
• Familiarity with accounting software, financial reporting tools, and modern financial technology.
• Experience with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial modeling.
• CPA, bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent relevant experience.
