Job Description
The Muskegon County Road Commission is seeking a qualified, experienced, and detail-oriented professional to serve as Director of Finance & HR. This key leadership position oversees all financial operations of the Road Commission, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, tax and audit coordination, internal controls, and financial forecasting.
The individual will also direct Human Resources functions - such as managing personnel records, policy development, recruitment, performance management, benefits administration, compensation, workforce planning, and employee development-while providing high-level IT oversight, including minor troubleshooting, hardware/ software procurement, vendor coordination, and company-wide training.
The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of accounting principles, excellent analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with management, Board members, employees, vendors, and the public.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, with five (5) or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting, financial management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with fellow employees, Commission officials and the public.
SALARY - $103,000-$126,700, DOE
