General Production, Material Handler, & Order Picker

Job Description

General Production

Classification: Hourly  

FLSA Category: Non-Exempt 

Work Hours: Monday Thursday, 10 hour shift 

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented General Production Worker to join our manufacturing team.  In this role, you will be responsible for supporting various stages of the production process, ensuring that products are assembled efficiently, safely and to quality standards.  The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with factory operations, and a commitment to safety protocols.  This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment where continuous improvement and teamwork are valued. 

 Job Duties: 

  • Operate machinery and hand tools safely to assemble products according to technical specifications and production guidelines. 
  • Ensure cans have correct codes and MIR, based on batch paperwork.
  • Ensures cans have correct spray heads.
  • Monitors cans to ensure labels are correctly located on the can. Replace unacceptable labels as needed.
  • Monitors boxes to ensure they contain the correct number of items.
  • Verifies products in containers are correct.
  • Removes completed or defective products moving them to specified areas.
  • Notifies supervisor of any quality issues.
  • Completes paperwork to track material usage (labels, caps, etc.)
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.
  • May act as backup for other positions.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Skills/Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Should be able to climb, bend and twist. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs. Must be able to tolerate hot and cold working conditions. The ability to follow written and verbal direction required. Good Organizational skills and attention to detail required. Basic Computer and Math skills necessary. Should be able to operate a Pallet Jack. 

Material Handler 

Classification: Hourly  

FLSA Category: Non-Exempt 

Work Hours: Monday Thursday, 10 hour shifts 
 
Job Responsibilities: Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or around plant and warehouse facilities, using stand up and sit down industrial trucks, or pallet jacks. 

Job Duties: 

  • Reads work orders or follows instructions to determine materials to be moved. 
  • Secures materials and conveys loads onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves as required.
  • Secures materials and conveys loads to or from storage areas to assigned destination, using industrial trucks or pallet jacks.
  • Removes completed pallets of products from Palletizer Lines and conveys them to Wrapper area.
  • Wraps completed pallets of products, ensuring they are labeled properly.
  • Moves wrapped pallets to correct storage areas.
  • Rotates stock in Warehouse by Date.
  • Adjusts stock locations to ensure that Order Pickers have access to products.
  • Reorganizes products to create additional storage space as needed.
  • Moves empty pallets to Palletizing area, as required.
  • Organizes and cleans Warehouse as needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 Skills/Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Must possess ability to lift up to 50lbs. Should be able to stand or walk for long periods of time. The ability to Bend and Twist required. Should be able to work in hot and/or cold work environments. Repeated climbing on and off industrial trucks necessary for this position. Must have prior experience operating industrial trucks, including stand up and sit down Forklifts. Valid Drivers License, with acceptable driving record necessary. Ability to Read and Write required, along with basic Math Skills. Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions. Planning and Organizational Skills necessary. 

Order Picker - 2nd Shift

 Classification: Hourly  

 FLSA Category: Non-Exempt 

 Work Hours: Monday Thursday, 10 hour shifts 
 
Job Responsibilities: Reviews incoming material orders, finds materials in the warehouse and delivers them to the staging area to be wrapped for shipping to the customer. 

.  Job Duties: 

  • Obtains Pick Orders, reviews them to determine orders contents and any special notes necessary for the order. 
  • Uses pallet jack to move empty pallet to stock areas. During picking process, continues to move pallet using the pallet jack.
  • Locates products identified on order, and places them on pallet with labels facing outward, and putting largest boxes or containers on the bottom. Cardboard is placed between layers to ensure product stability during shipping.
  • When order is complete, reviews Pick Order to ensure all products are on pallet.
  • Locates correct Shipper Labels and places them on front of pallet.
  • Places Pick Order and Packing List on front of pallet.
  • Moves completed Order Pallet to staging area for inspection and wrapping.
  • May act as backup and break relief for Palletizers, Truck Loaders or UPS Clerk. 
  • Completes all necessary paperwork for order in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.  

 Skills/Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to operate Pallet Jacks and Forklifts. Standing and walking for extended periods of time required. Must possess the ability to lift at least 50lbs repeatedly. Bending and Twisting necessary throughout the day. Should be able to work in hot/cold work environments. Must be able to read and count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required. Organizational Skills necessary.
