Wildlife & Construction Technician

Bugsy’s Pest Solutions is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Wildlife & Construction Technician to join our growing team.

This is not a basic pest-control position. This role focuses on wildlife removal, rodent exclusion, structural repairs, attic work, trapping, and construction-based solutions designed to permanently solve animal and pest-entry problems.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, can think through problems, works well independently, and is comfortable performing physically demanding work in Florida conditions.

What You'll Do

As a Wildlife & Construction Technician, you will:

• Inspect homes and commercial buildings for wildlife and rodent activity.
• Identify entry points, structural deficiencies, and conditions allowing animals into buildings.
• Perform rodent and wildlife exclusion work.
• Install and monitor traps for rats, raccoons, squirrels and other nuisance wildlife.
• Seal roof returns, soffits, fascia, vents, plumbing penetrations and other structural openings.
• Perform repairs using sheet metal, hardware cloth, concrete, sealants, lumber and other construction materials.
• Fabricate and install custom exclusion solutions when standard products will not work.
• Install roof vent protection, ridge protection and other wildlife-proofing systems.
• Perform attic work including inspections, sanitation, insulation-related work and removal of contaminated materials when required.
• Use ladders and safely access roofs, crawlspaces and other difficult areas.
• Take before-and-after photographs and properly document completed work.
• Communicate findings and recommended repairs clearly to customers and management.
• Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicle in professional condition.
• Follow company safety procedures and Florida wildlife regulations.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who is good with their hands and knows how buildings are put together.

Experience in any of the following is highly valuable:

Construction, roofing, carpentry, handyman work, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, insulation, pest control, wildlife removal, property maintenance or other skilled trades.

You do not need to know everything on day one. We can teach wildlife and pest-control techniques to someone who already has the right work ethic, mechanical ability and willingness to learn.

You should be comfortable:

• Working in hot attics and confined spaces.
• Working on ladders and roofs.
• Using drills, grinders, saws, impact drivers and other power tools.
• Cutting and bending sheet metal.
• Performing detailed repair and exclusion work.
• Getting dirty when the job requires it.
• Handling wildlife and working around animal waste.
• Troubleshooting problems instead of simply following a checklist.
• Working independently while maintaining Bugsy's quality standards.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Ability to safely lift approximately 50–75 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces and Florida heat.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Professional appearance and communication.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Willingness to learn new trades, techniques and equipment.
• Ability to pass any legally required employment screening.

Construction, roofing, wildlife, pest-control or skilled-trade experience is preferred, but attitude, mechanical aptitude and work ethic matter just as much to us.
