Job Description

The Overhead Crane Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and safety inspection of overhead bridge cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, and other crane types. This role involves daily field service calls to ensure all crane equipment operates efficiently and safely, providing vital support to client operations through expert troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency crane maintenance and repair work
  • Conduct thorough safety inspections and load testing procedures
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools
  • Support installation and setup of new crane equipment
  • Implement preventive maintenance plans to reduce downtime
  • Document service activities and maintain detailed records
  • Provide timely customer support and communication during service calls
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial troubleshooting and repairs
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Journeyman Electrical License (Rhode Island)
  • Proficiency in electrical systems and mechanical repair
  • Knowledge of load testing procedures and overhead crane inspection
  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools for troubleshooting
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
