SRO (Student Resource Officer)
- Part-Time Position

The Borough of Kane, PA is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Student Resource Officer (SRO). This part-time role is ideal for retired or current law enforcement professionals who want to continue serving their community in a meaningful, relationship-focused capacity. If not SRO certified, training will be provided by the Borough of Kane.
The SRO will be assigned primarily to the Kane Area School District during the Elementary, Middle, and High School calendar year and have the opportunity working part time for the Borough of Kane Police Department.

Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Campus patrol and monitoring
Classroom visits and safety presentations
Report writing and documentation
Conflict intervention and de-escalation
Traffic control during school hours
Emergency response and threat assessment
Student counseling and support
Building trust and positive relationships with students and staff
Qualifications
Act 120 certification required
Retired or current law enforcement experience preferred
Strong communication skills and a community-minded approach
Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel and Borough staff
