Construction Superintendent

Job Description

Job Description

Job Description

RoCon Construction is seeking a Superintendent to lead the field execution of commercial

construction projects while remaining actively involved in the work. This is a hands-on

leadership position for an experienced construction professional who enjoys managing a jobsite,

leading people, solving problems, and still putting on a tool belt when the project requires it.

The Superintendent owns the field operation from mobilization through completion and serves

as the primary field leader for the project. You will coordinate trade partners and crews, manage

the schedule and jobsite, maintain quality and safety standards, and personally contribute to

production when appropriate.

Responsibilities

● Lead daily field operations from project mobilization through completion.

● Review plans, specifications, schedules, scopes, and project requirements.

● Develop and manage short-term and look-ahead schedules.

● Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, inspections, and site logistics.

● Lead and mentor field project team members.

● Reports to the Field Operations Director and is accountable for the overall field

execution, leadership, and performance of assigned projects.

● Perform hands-on construction work when appropriate to maintain production or support

the team.

● Understands trade partner scopes and possesses a comprehensive understanding of

building systems, construction processes, and how all components of a building work

together.

● Demonstrates strong computer literacy and is proficient in the technology and software

required to effectively manage modern construction projects.

● Monitor project progress, manpower, materials, quality, and schedule.

● Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and professional jobsite.

● Identify constructability issues, conflicts, and potential problems before they impact the

project.

● Communicate field conditions, schedule impacts, and project needs to the Project

Manager.

● Coordinate with the Project Manager on changes, RFIs, submittals, and other project

requirements.

● Maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and project stakeholders.

● Conduct and document quality-control inspections and project milestones.

● Maintain project documentation including daily reports, photos, manpower, and

production information.

● Take ownership of project completion, punch list, and turnover.

What You Own

As the Superintendent, you own the field operation.

You are responsible for making sure the project is safe, organized, productive, on schedule,

clean, and built correctly. You are expected to anticipate problems, make sound decisions, and

keep the project moving without waiting for someone else to solve every field issue.

You will have authority over daily field operations, sequencing, crew assignments, means and

methods, site logistics, and production within the project requirements and company standards.

What You Don't Own

The Superintendent does not independently own:

● Project estimating or contract negotiations

● Project financial forecasting

● Client pricing or contractual commitments

● Major scope changes or change-order negotiations

● Project procurement outside established procedures

● Overall project financial management

What We're Looking For

● Significant commercial construction experience

● Previous Superintendent, Foreman, or Lead Carpenter experience

● Strong knowledge of commercial construction means and methods

● Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and schedules

● Strong understanding of trade partner coordination and jobsite logistics

● Ability to lead crews while maintaining a hands-on role

● Strong communication and problem-solving skills

● Ability to plan ahead and identify potential problems early

● High standards for safety, quality, cleanliness, and professionalism

● Ability to work independently and take ownership of a project

● Valid driver's license

The RoCon Standard

We are looking for a field leader, not a clipboard superintendent.

You should be comfortable running the jobsite, holding people accountable, talking with the

owner, coordinating trade partners, solving problems, and—when it makes sense—putting your

bags on and building alongside the crew.

We believe the best Superintendents understand the work because they have done the work.

Benefits:

● Retirement (Plus Matching)

● Dental insurance

● Health insurance

● Vision Insurance

● Paid Time Off

● 8 Paid Holidays

Schedule:

● 8-10 Hour Shift

● Nights & Weekends as Project Requires

Work Location: In person

Pay: $80,000 - $105,000 Based on Experience
