Job Description:

 

The Assistant Director of Admissions is responsible for executing the recruitment strategy for an assigned undergraduate admissions territory to achieve enrollment goals for Siena University. Serving as Siena's primary representative within the region, this role builds relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, and community partners while guiding students from inquiry through enrollment.  Success in this role requires disciplined execution, exceptional relationship-building skills, effective use of data and technology, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding prospective student experience.

This position is designed to be regionally based within the greater New York City metropolitan area, with preference given to candidates located in or near Westchester County. Regular travel throughout the assigned territory and to Siena University's Loudonville campus (approximately 1-2 times per month) is required.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Own the recruitment strategy and enrollment results for an assigned geographic territory.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, community-based organizations, and other key influencers.
  • Execute a territory management plan using data, market knowledge, and recruitment best practices to meet or exceed enrollment goals.
  • Represent Siena University at high schools, college fairs, counselor programs, community events, and on-campus recruitment programs.
  • Conduct individual and group admissions counseling appointments, presentations, and information sessions in person and virtually.
  • Communicate Siena University's distinctive value proposition while connecting prospective students with opportunities that align with their goals and interests.
  • Utilize Slate, EnrollML, and other enrollment technologies to manage prospective student outreach, communication, and follow-up.
  • Review undergraduate admissions applications and make recommendations consistent with institutional admissions policies.
  • Analyze territory performance, enrollment trends, and recruitment activity to identify opportunities and continuously improve results.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Admissions, Financial Aid, Marketing, Athletics, Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs to provide a coordinated enrollment experience.
  • Maintain accurate records, communication history, and activity reporting within the University's CRM.
  • Participate in evening and weekend recruitment events as needed throughout the admissions cycle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 1 year of experience in admissions, sales, recruitment, customer success, account management, or another relationship-focused role. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Ability to analyze information, prioritize work, and make informed decisions using data.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing an exceptional experience for prospective students and families.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new technology platforms and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout an assigned recruitment territory, including evenings and weekends during peak recruitment periods.
  • Valid Driver's License 

 Preferred Requirements: 

  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding measurable performance goals.
  • Experience managing a sales or recruitment pipeline using a CRM.
  • Experience analyzing data to inform territory strategy and improve performance.
  • Experience presenting to groups and representing an organization publicly. 
  • Spanish language proficiency.
  • Candidates located within the greater New York City metropolitan area, particularly Westchester County, are preferred to support regional territory management.

 

Additional Information:

 

Salary: $64,360

*The hiring salary above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting in compliance with the Albany County Salary Transparency Law. Candidates performing work in Westchester County, Long Island, or NYC are subject to a statutory minimum salary of $66,300.
