GME Accreditation & Residency Development Consultant

Bartz-Altadonna Community Health Center (BACHC), a Federally Qualified Health Center serving the Antelope Valley and surrounding medically underserved communities in Southern California, is seeking an experienced Graduate Medical Education (GME) Accreditation & Residency Development Consultant to guide the organization through the development of its own ACGME-accredited Sponsoring Institution and future residency program(s).

BACHC is in the early planning and development stage. We are seeking an experienced GME professional who can work directly with executive and clinical leadership and provide hands-on, step-by-step guidance through the ACGME accreditation process, beginning with organizational readiness and development of the Sponsoring Institution application.

The consultant will conduct an initial GME readiness and gap assessment and develop a detailed roadmap identifying the organizational, governance, faculty, clinical, financial, administrative, and educational infrastructure necessary for BACHC to become an ACGME-accredited Sponsoring Institution.

Responsibilities will include guiding BACHC through development of the institutional application; establishing the appropriate DIO and GMEC structure; developing required GME policies, procedures and governance processes; providing guidance regarding ACGME ADS requirements; evaluating clinical training sites and faculty resources; and assisting leadership with the development of the infrastructure necessary to support future residency programs.

Following development of the Sponsoring Institution, the consultant may also assist BACHC with residency program planning and applications, including Program Director and faculty requirements, curriculum and rotation development, participating-site relationships, educational resources, application preparation, and readiness for ACGME review.

This is a consulting/contract engagement rather than a permanent DIO or Program Director position. BACHC is specifically seeking an individual with demonstrated experience developing new GME programs and navigating the ACGME accreditation process.

The selected consultant will work closely with BACHC's President & CEO and designated organizational leadership. The engagement may be performed through a combination of remote and on-site work, with periodic on-site participation in Lancaster/Palmdale, California, as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated professional experience in Graduate Medical Education and ACGME accreditation.
Direct experience with the development of a new ACGME Sponsoring Institution and/or new ACGME-accredited residency program.
Experience preparing institutional or program applications using the ACGME Accreditation Data System (ADS).
Strong working knowledge of ACGME Institutional Requirements, Common Program Requirements, and accreditation processes.
Experience working with DIOs, GMECs, Program Directors, institutional leadership, faculty and residency coordinators.
Demonstrated ability to conduct GME readiness assessments and translate accreditation requirements into actionable implementation plans.
Experience developing GME policies, governance structures, curricula, faculty structures, participating-site arrangements and accreditation documentation.
Excellent project management, written communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work directly with executive leadership and provide clear, practical, step-by-step guidance.
Highly Preferred

Experience successfully guiding an organization from initial planning through ACGME Initial Accreditation; prior experience as a DIO, Program Director, Associate Program Director, senior GME administrator or GME accreditation consultant; and experience with community-based residency programs, FQHCs, Teaching Health Centers, medically underserved populations, or community health systems.

Applicants should also provide their proposed consulting rate or project-based fee structure, anticipated availability, and general approach to the engagement.
