Data Engineer

Fleming Technical Resources, LLC is looking for a Data Engineer at 2050 SE Olson Drive, Waukee, IA 50263 to perform the following job duties: Gather requirements for enhancement and maintenance projects across insurance products and modules such as enrollment setup, account services, recurring and one-time payments, CyberSource reconciliation, and coverage-rating algorithms. Conduct detailed technical and functional analysis of business requirements. Prepare effort estimations using complexity-based methodologies. Develop business requirement documents, underwriting workflows, and operational process flows. Design, support, and enhance critical application databases. Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation, data processing, reporting, and integration tasks. Create and manage Shell scripts for batch processing, job scheduling, system monitoring, and operational automation. Perform database administration tasks such as data import/export, health checks, and session monitoring. Optimize performance of long-running SQL queries and PL/SQL code. Design new database structures based on evolving business needs. Set up new data loads, reporting processes, and batch data extract jobs. Track team capacity and project progress through regular status updates. Monitor work items daily using JIRA and conduct weekly project status meetings. Lead weekly innovation and process-improvement discussions to identify and implement efficiency enhancements. Provide functional and technical knowledge transfer to team members. Prioritize work assignments and conduct daily task-allocation meetings. Act as a database consultant for internal business units within AMBA Administrators Inc. Provide UAT, QA, and production support for critical applications. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or high-severity production issues and implement permanent fixes. Review deliverables to ensure adherence to quality standards. Analyze defects, conduct RCA, and define corrective action plans to prevent recurrence. Perform impact analysis for major projects to ensure system stability. Monitor production batch jobs and perform minor data corrections as required. Conduct Proof of Concept (POC) exercises to validate feasibility of proposed solutions. Present innovative ideas and process improvements to business leadership as valued initiatives. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to interpret requirements, define solutions, and align technical implementations with business logic and database structures. Uses: AWS, Azure, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Apache Spark, Snowflake, and shell scripting. Must be willing to work at unanticipated worksite locations. This position does not require travel in order to perform the duties of the position. This position requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or foreign equivalent and 3 years of experience in AWS, Azure, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Apache Spark, Snowflake, and shell scripting.
