Asphalt Worker

****MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH ASPHALT AND OUTSIDE*******

We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Asphalt Worker to join our road construction crew. In this role, you will prep, lay, and finish asphalt for roads, driveways, and parking lots. This is a physically demanding, outdoor role that requires endurance, a focus on safety, and the ability to work alongside paving machinery in varying Florida weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Preparation: Clean and sweep surfaces (curbs, gutters), spray tack coat/oil, and dig out or repair potholes and subsurface materials.
• Asphalt Application: Shovel, rake, and lute (smooth) hot-mix asphalt to the proper grade, thickness, and slope as it is laid. 
• Compaction & Finishing: Operate or assist with vibratory compactors, rollers, and hand tampers to ensure smooth, properly compacted surfaces. 
• Equipment Maintenance: Load/unload trucks, and properly clean hand tools, power tools, and machinery after daily use.
• Safety & Traffic Control: Set up traffic cones, signs, and act as a flagger to direct traffic and ensure the work zone complies with OSHA and FDOT regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of proven experience working on an asphalt paving or heavy highway construction crew.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, walk alongside a paver, and perform strenuous manual labor in extreme heat and inclement weather.
• Lifting Capacity: Ability to repetitively lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
