The Heavy Equipment Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of heavy machinery used on-site and at various field locations. Working within a small team and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this technician handles routine maintenance and emergency repairs to keep equipment operational and compliant with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues
- Conduct repairs and welding on equipment as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all maintenance and repair activities
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns in the field
- Collaborate effectively within a small team environment
- Travel frequently to various field locations for maintenance and repairs
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- Technical diploma or associate degree in Heavy Equipment Technology or a related field
