JW Zepeda Law Firm is hiring a Personal Injury Litigation Associate Attorney with 4 to 8 years of litigation experience to join our growing Texas litigation team.
This is a Texas-based plaintiff personal injury litigation role for an attorney who wants real responsibility, real courtroom work, and the opportunity to fight for injured Texans.
Compensation is $120,000–$180,000 per year, based on experience.
We are looking for a litigation attorney who can move personal injury cases forward through pleadings, discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and strong client communication.
This is not a paper-pushing job. This is for an attorney who knows litigation, takes ownership, communicates clearly, and wants to be part of a serious, growing law firm.
What You’ll Do
You will help manage personal injury litigation matters from suit filing through resolution, including:
- Managing a personal injury litigation docket
- Developing case strategy and litigation plans
- Drafting and reviewing petitions, pleadings, motions, discovery, discovery responses, demand packages, mediation statements, and settlement documents
- Handling written discovery and document production
- Taking and defending depositions
- Preparing clients and witnesses for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial
- Attending hearings, mediations, court conferences, and case-related proceedings
- Negotiating settlements from a position of preparation and strength
- Working closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and senior attorneys
- Communicating with clients and providing case progress updates
- Reviewing medical records, damages evidence, liability evidence, and case value issues
- Preparing cases for trial with senior attorneys and firm leadership
- Helping improve litigation workflows, templates, checklists, and case quality
- If you are willing to take on other types of litigation, we will pay you more money
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- 4 to 8 years of litigation experience
- Active Texas law license in good standing
- Experience litigating personal injury cases or comparable civil litigation matters
- Experience in Texas state court
- Strong writing, research, negotiation, and case-management skills
- Experience with pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, hearings, and mediations
- Ability to manage deadlines and a busy litigation docket
- Strong client communication skills
- High ethical standards and professional discipline
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team
- Ability to travel within Texas for court, depositions, mediations, and case-related matters as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Strong candidates may also have:
- Plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience
- Motor vehicle accident, trucking accident, premises liability, wrongful death, or catastrophic injury experience
- First-chair or second-chair trial experience
- Federal court experience
- Experience with contingency-fee litigation
- Experience reviewing medical records, medical bills, expert reports, and damages evidence
- Experience preparing demand packages and mediation statements
- Comfort using legal technology, case management software, e-filing systems, and modern litigation tools
- Bilingual English/Spanish ability preferred
Compensation and Benefits
We offer:
- Base salary of $120,000–$180,000 per year, depending on experience
- Full benefits package
- Potential contingency fee splits or performance-based compensation, subject to case type, contribution, origination, and firm approval
- Reimbursement for approved business travel expenses
- Firm-arranged travel when practical and approved in advance
- Opportunity to grow with a Texas-based personal injury litigation firm, with National
Travel expenses must be supported by receipts for reimbursement. When travel can reasonably be arranged in advance by the firm, the firm may do so.

This role is for a Texas litigation attorney who wants to fight for injured clients, take ownership of cases, and do meaningful plaintiff-side personal injury work.
We want someone who is practical, prepared, responsive, and ready for battle. The right candidate can manage cases, communicate with clients, work with staff, prepare thoroughly, and move cases toward strong outcomes.
This is not the right role for someone who avoids court, avoids responsibility, misses deadlines, needs constant supervision, or does not enjoy active litigation.
