Treasurer for Lewistown Borough

Job Description

Lewistown Borough is seeking a Treasurer, this key position will work collaboratively to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective management of public resources. We value integrity, dedication, and teamwork as we serve the citizens of Lewistown.

Responsibilities for this position are:

Ability to plan, organize, and control financial policies and procedures to ensure effective record keeping and reporting. Capable of evaluating and improving procedures for recording financial transactions to optimize operational efficiency. Ability to review and approve all ledger and journal entries for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Prepare and analyze financial reports, including monthly trial balances and year-end closing. Supervise staff, coordinate projects, and assist in recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.

Skills required for this position are:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration. Familiarity with municipal government structure and municipal budget and accounting practices strongly preferred. Minimum of three years of relevant experience in financial administration or equivalent work experience. Strong knowledge of public administration principles and practices, including financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Salary/Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
