Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Office Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while managing front desk operations in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Check patients in and out efficiently
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, faxes, and mail
- Assist with billing inquiries and payment processing
- Ensure the reception and waiting areas remain clean and organized
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
- Coordinate with medical staff to support daily office operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous receptionist or medical office experience preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance procedures is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
