We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) with Emergency Room (ER) and/or Urgent Care experience to join our healthcare team. The PA will provide high-quality medical care, evaluate and treat acute illnesses and injuries, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute illnesses and injuries
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests such as labs, X-rays, and EKGs
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Perform minor procedures including suturing, wound care, splinting, incision and drainage, and abscess treatment
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations
- Stabilize and manage emergency medical conditions
- Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinical protocols
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current Physician Assistant license in the state of practice
- NCCPA certification required
- DEA registration and prescriptive authority required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications preferred
- Minimum of 1–2 years of Emergency Room and/or Urgent Care experience preferred
- Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
