Secondary Science Teacher (6th-12th)

Position Overview

Colonial Christian School, a FACCS fully accredited school, is seeking to hire an enthusiastic Secondary Principal / Assistant Principal to join our dedicated team.

Responsibilities

Instruction and Curriculum

  • Plan and deliver effective science lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum. 
  • Teach core science subjects, which may include Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, and STEM-related topics. 
  • Integrate biblical worldview concepts into science instruction while encouraging critical thinking and scientific inquiry. 
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, laboratory activities, technology, and hands-on learning experiences. 
  • Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, projects, lab reports, and other formative and summative assessments. 
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and administration. 

Classroom Management

  • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and Christ-centered classroom environment. 
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote student engagement and responsibility. 
  • Foster a culture of kindness, integrity, and mutual respect among students. 

Spiritual Leadership

  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and model Christian character in all interactions. 
  • Lead students in prayer, devotions, and biblical discussions as appropriate. 
  • Encourage students' spiritual development through daily interactions and classroom instruction. 
  • Support the school's mission, statement of faith, and spiritual objectives. 

Professional Responsibilities

  • Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required. 
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and school improvement initiatives. 
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff. 
  • Fulfill duties such as supervision, chapel attendance, and extracurricular involvement as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Highly developed oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships effectively & professionally with families & students
  • Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, standing, & moving throughout the classroom
  • Active member of their church
