Key Responsibilities
- Aid in the daily care of thoroughbred horses, including feeding, watering, turning out, and bringing in horses as directed.
- Manage and use grooming tools effectively, maintaining tack and grooming supplies in good condition.
- Clean and organize stalls, barns, tack rooms, and common work areas to maintain a safe, sanitary environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines, biosecurity protocols, and farm procedures to protect both staff and animals.
- Observe and report any changes in horse health, behavior, or appearance to supervisors promptly and accurately.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role or with horses is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to the highest standards of animal care.
- Ability to perform labor-intensive tasks in a variety of weather conditions and to lift and carry heavy items when needed.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
