Part-Time Seasonal Gardener (Private Estate)

Immediate Hire | 18 hours/week (Mon/Wed/Fri, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

A private estate in Rye, NH is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gardener to join the team for a seasonal, part-time opportunity. This role is ideal for a passionate horticultural professional who takes pride in fine gardening and thrives working outdoors in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance ornamental gardens with a focus on plant health and aesthetics
• Perform skilled hand pruning of shrubs and trees, with proper timing and technique
• Identify and care for perennials, shrubs, and trees common to New England
• Apply fertilizers and soil amendments to support plant vitality
• Assist with planting, transplanting, and dividing perennials
• Create and maintain seasonal container plantings
• Hand water garden beds and containers during dry or hot conditions
• Monitor plants for signs of stress, pests, or disease and communicate observations
• Support overall garden quality with attention to detail and craftsmanship

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on gardening or horticulture experience
• Strong plant identification knowledge (ornamental species preferred)
• Proven experience with fine gardening techniques and pruning practices
• Passion for plants, gardening, and outdoor work
• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Schedule & Location

• Part-Time (18 hours/week): Monday, Wednesday, Friday | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Location: Rye, New Hampshire
