Mechanical Engineer: Active participation in customer design reviews to define requirements in terms of engineering metrics, address design solutions and mechanical design requirements to implement changes that improve product and interfaces and ensure a robust product design.
Define and create the documents needed for production and get them released through proper approval process, to reach a proper program launch. Establish physical and functional integration of plastics components of the interior trim of the vehicles through all phases of the program. Translate functional objectives into technical requirements and mechanical solutions. Create and analyze alternative design concepts packaging and integrating mechanical systems, mechanical components and benchmarking of competitive vehicles. Review 3D CAD with Tool shops to communicate any feasibility concern of the plastic substrates. Review SLAs and 3D CAD models with Designers and prototype laboratory to ensure the wrapping feasibility of the substrates. Review DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effects and Analysis) document with Quality Engineers to create a plan to reduce products risks (RPNs). Review OKTT CAD and production substrates with Process Engineers to develop proper tools and fixtures for testing and different assembly operations of the End item.
