Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive IT professional to manage and optimize our enterprise systems and network infrastructure. This role combines hands-on system administration, network operations, and enterprise application support with a strong focus on performance, security, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is capable of guiding best practices across all IT operations while mentoring the next generation of IT talent.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Infrastructure Leadership: Lead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows/Linux servers, virtual environments (VMware), and mission-critical enterprise applications.
- Systems Management: Oversee and optimize email platforms, collaboration tools (Office 365, Exchange), SQL databases, and Citrix environments.
- Network Operations: Design, monitor, and maintain LAN/WAN and voice networks; serve as the primary escalation point to troubleshoot complex connectivity issues.
- Proactive Monitoring: Spearhead system and network monitoring utilizing industry-leading tools (SolarWinds, Zabbix, BMC Patrol, Tivoli).
- Continuous Improvement: Plan and execute seamless system upgrades, patch management, and overall performance improvements.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain robust system security, access controls, and ensure strict compliance with audit requirements (SSAE18).
- Mentorship: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff, support vendor evaluations, and champion enterprise-wide IT initiatives.
- Incident Management: Participate in proactive incident management and a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure maximum system availability.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated systems and network administration experience within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent real-world experience).
- OS Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems (RHEL highly preferred).
- Tech Stack: Strong experience with VMware/virtualization and advanced Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365).
- Networking Pro: Deep networking expertise, including Cisco, Fortinet, and LAN/WAN design.
- Database & Monitoring: Experience with SQL Server and enterprise monitoring/performance tools.
- Automation Skills: Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, VBScript).
- Requirements: Flexibility to accommodate occasional field work and 24/7 on-call participation. Must pass comprehensive background checks.
