Job Description

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The Library Guild of Rancho Santa Fe seeks a new Executive Director. This is a part-time job, at 20 to 30 hours per week, and it's a crucial role for the library and the community. Candidates should have experience in project management, event planning, grant writing and fundraising. The Executive Director (ED) works closely with the library staff and volunteers, as well as with community organizations, to execute special events, including author talks, volunteer events and fundraisers. The ED also oversees the maintenance of a website, social media platform and newsletter, and works closely with the board of directors on strategic planning and management of monthly and yearly budgets. The ED plays an important role as the public face of the library for many literary and fundraising events. The ED also solicits and oversees donors/members, and manages the maintenance of the library building, including repairs, security, landscaping and safety compliance. This job is for someone who values the library as a key part of the Rancho Santa Fe community. The job is fast-paced and requires quick thinking and decision making, as well as the ability to successfully communicate with and collaborate with all types of people. It also offers flexibility in terms of on-site and office hours, with some duties performed remotely. Days in office: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. Starting salary is $34 per hour.
