Job Description
Position: Full-Time Certified Police Officer

Minimum Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have current West Virginia Law Enforcement Certification
- Must possess a valid West Virginia driver’s license
- Must be physically and psychologically able to perform essential duties
- Must be of good moral character
- Must successfully complete all required training
- Must complete background investigation and polygraph investigation
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Enforce all Town, State, and Federal laws and ordinances
- Investigate traffic and criminal incidents, including initial and follow-up reports
- Identify, document, and preserve evidence
- Assist Town, County, and State agencies as needed
- Conduct foot patrols within Town limits
- Build positive relationships with residents, business owners, and visitors
- Promote public safety in a small-town, tourism-focused environment
- Maintain assigned vehicles and equipment
- Prepare accurate and timely reports
- Adhere to department Standard Operating Procedures
- Accept duty assignments as directed by the Chief of Police
