3D CAD Designer / Drafter (AutoCAD, Piping & Manufacturing)

We are a Texas-based manufacturing company specializing in industrial processing plants and asphalt tank systems. As we expand our capabilities, we are looking to bring on a 3D CAD Designer/Drafter to help transition and enhance our design department from 2D to 3D modeling.

This role offers the opportunity to work on custom, large-scale projects for clients across the globe while helping modernize internal design processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and convert 2D AutoCAD drawings into 3D models
• Collaborate with Project Managers to design industrial equipment, piping systems, and plant layouts
• Build and maintain a library of 3D components and assemblies
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and material schedules
• Develop isometric drawings and P&IDs (process and instrumentation diagrams)
• Update drawings based on production feedback and as-built measurements
• Support both production and marketing with accurate 3D visuals

Qualifications

• Experience with 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
• Background in piping, structural, or industrial drafting
• Familiarity with P&IDs
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage custom projects
• Manufacturing experience is a plus
• Structural design or calculation experience is a plus
