Description:
Charlevoix Public Schools is looking to fill a Preschool 4-Year-Old Program Teacher position. This position serves as a Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Teacher and is responsible for planning, assessing, and instructing 4-year-old students based on individual needs and GSRP requirements. The teacher will provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment while promoting physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. The position also ensures compliance with Michigan Early Childhood Standards, the GSRP Implementation Manual, and Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP) licensing guidelines.
Qualifications:
Michigan Teacher Certification with one of the following endorsements:
Early Childhood Education endorsement (ZA)
Early Childhood PK–General and Special Education endorsement (ZS)
Pre-K–Grade 3 (PK–3) (ZO)
OR
A Bachelor’s degree in child development or early childhood education with specialization in preschool teaching
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a related field preferred
Experience working with children in an educational or licensed preschool program
Knowledge of Michigan Early Childhood Standards, GSRP requirements, and child development best practices
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with children and their families
Emotional resilience and patience to support young learners in a classroom environment
Ability to maintain required documentation, assess student progress, and meet state licensing and GSRP requirements
Ability to develop and implement lesson plans aligned to curriculum and student needs
Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
Ability to communicate regularly with families and complete required home visits and conferences

Salary & Benefits:
Salary dependent on education and experience; single health benefits available (for 30 hours/week positions)
