WELDING INSTRUCTOR

NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: Welding Instructor

LOCATION: Lawrence County Career & Technical Center (LCCTC)

STATUS: Permanent, Full-Time

EFFECTIVE DATE: 2026-2027 School Year

The Lawrence County CTC is seeking a highly organized, self-motivated professional to lead our Welding program. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking to transition into education and mentor the next generation of welding professionals. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to work with and inspire teenagers.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 4,000 hours of verifiable employment in the welding field within the last 10 years.
• Certification: While a teaching certificate is preferred, it is not initially required. The successful candidate must be willing to enroll in an approved teacher certification program upon hire.
• Essential Skills: Strong verbal and written communication; ability to manage a classroom/lab environment; proficiency in various processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, etc.).

COMPENSATION
• Salary: Per the negotiated collective bargaining agreement.
• Benefits: Comprehensive package as per the current contract.

Note: Upon hire the candidate must provide results of a physical examination and TB test.
