Job Summary
We are a well-established heavy highway construction company serving Northern Arizona. We specialize in bridge work, roadway construction, earthwork, underground utilities, and public works projects. We are growing and looking for a skilled Estimator to join our team at either our Chino Valley or Flagstaff office. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and successful project execution.

Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive construction estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing data and scope details.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and risk assessments to ensure precise budgeting for each project.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process and adjust estimates as needed to meet budget targets.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, contracts, and change order documentation to support project delivery.
- Contribute to cost control efforts during construction by tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for savings without compromising quality or safety.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and labor costs.
- Solid knowledge of construction site operations, project management principles, and contract administration.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and accurately analyze project specifications.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in computer software HCSS Heavy Bid, Microsoft Office.
- Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) years of estimating experience
- Experience with ADOT and municipal bidding requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
