Job Description
The City of Orrville is seeking candidates for a full time Power Plant Technician I to support the operation and maintenance of the City's electrical power generation plant. This role is ideal for mechanically or electrically inclined professionals interested in utility operations and long term public service.
Technicians assist in operating high pressure steam boilers, turbines, fuel and ash systems, and related plant equipment to ensure a reliable power supply. The position also involves routine inspection, lubrication, and servicing of equipment, as well as assisting with installation and maintenance of plant systems and facilities.
Pay range: $28.26-$35.31 per hour, plus benefits.
Qualified candidates typically have a high school diploma or GED, relevant technical or trade training, and experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance. A valid Ohio driver's license and the ability to meet all employment requirements are required.
This is a civil service position with a written exam.
