Job Title: Pre-Closing Officer I

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Pre-Closing Officer I to join our Homeownership Programs Division in Harrisburg, PA. In this role, you will review residential mortgage loan files to ensure compliance with underwriting and investor guidelines prior to closing.
This is a great opportunity for candidates with mortgage processing or underwriting experience looking to grow their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Review residential mortgage loan files for completeness and compliance prior to closing
- Ensure adherence to underwriting and investor guidelines (FHA, VA, RD, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae)
- Review suspended or conditionally approved loan files
- Communicate with lenders to resolve underwriting and documentation issues
- Respond to lender and partner inquiries regarding loan programs
- Stay current with mortgage industry regulations and guidelines
- Participate in team and division meetings
- Complete special projects and additional assignments as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in residential mortgage lending
(processor or underwriter experience preferred) - Bachelor’s degree is a plus, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
