Job Description
Western Michigan University (WMU) invites applications for a Faculty Specialist II - Clinical Specialist in the WMU Bronson school of nursing.
We have two (2) academic year Faculty Specialist II - Clinical Specialist positions open. Applicants will need to apply for either the tenure-track (F307P) or the terminal (F308P) position.
This is an academic year (9 month), exempt/salaried position at the FS2 level, with salary commensurate with qualifications and experience and an excellent benefits package.
Appointments may be made as either tenure track or non tenure track (one year appointment) based on candidate qualifications and program needs.
Responsibilities include: teaching undergraduate nursing courses across online, hybrid, and traditional formats; simulation based laboratory instruction; supervision of nursing students in clinical settings; service and contribution to the school, college, university, and community; and participation in interdisciplinary and community collaborations.
Required qualifications: graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution; current, unencumbered Michigan RN license; and clinical expertise aligned with teaching responsibilities.
Tenure track appointment: requires clinical expertise in mental health nursing; prior baccalaureate teaching experience preferred.
Non tenure track appointment: one year term; requires baccalaureate level teaching experience and clinical expertise in one or more undergraduate instructional areas (e.g., medical surgical nursing).
