The apprentices of Plumbers 519 J.A.E.C. learn through both classroom and on-the-job training in what is considered by many to be the best construction industry apprentice program in the world. The five-year apprenticeship period is divided into one-year segments, each of which includes 1,800 hours of on-the-job training and a minimum of 248 hours of related classroom instruction per year (10,000 and 1,080 over the five-year program).
Plumbers 519 Joint Apprentice & Educational Committee was founded in 1939 and the oldest registered apprenticeship program in the state of Florida. We recognize the need for structured training to maintain the highest level of skill and craftsmanship in the piping industry.
A registered apprenticeship provides the most practical and sound method to meet this need by preparing and training individuals to become skilled plumbers and ensuring the industry of an adequate supply of skilled craft workers.
