Charge Nurse - LPN or RN
The charge nurse plays a pivotal role in the supervision and delivery of high-quality nursing care throughout the facility. This position requires a nurse who combines strong clinical judgment with effective administrative and communication skills to ensure that resident care meets established standards. The charge nurse is expected to have a comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice, including a working understanding of pharmacology, biology, physical and social sciences, and medical principles as they relate to resident care challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

*Assist in overseeing day-to-day nursing activities and coordinate care across shifts to maintain continuity and quality.
*Provide direction to licensed and unlicensed staff, offering clinical guidance and support when complex resident-care problems arise.
*Participate in care planning, evaluation of resident outcomes, and documentation review to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
*Monitor medication administration practices and collaborate with prescribers and pharmacists to promote safe pharmacologic care.
*Promote a physical, social, and psychological environment that supports resident well-being and dignity.

Skills and Qualifications:

*Current licensure as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse and relevant clinical experience in long-term care or comparable settings.
*Strong memory, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to multitask under pressure.
*Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
*Knowledge of infection control, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.

The charge nurse will lead by example, fostering a supportive environment that promotes resident safety, comfort, and quality of life while supporting staff development and facility goals.
