HR Generalist – Recruiting & Onboarding (Paycom Required)

Location: Carrolton, TX

SALARY: Pay is negotiable and is based on experience.

 

About the Role

We are one of the largest family owned HVAC company seeking an experienced HR Generalist with a strong recruiting background to lead hiring efforts for HVAC Technicians and other skilled trade and office positions. We are located in 4 states (Texas, Lousiana, Mississippi, and Alabama). This role will also support onboarding, employee lifecycle processes, and HR administration, with a heavy emphasis on Paycom ATS experience.

 

This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys recruiting in a fast-paced, blue-collar environment while still being involved in core HR functions.

 

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus)

  • Recruit HVAC Technicians, installers, service techs, apprentices, and support roles
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting: job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offers
  • Utilize Paycom ATS daily to manage requisitions, candidates, and hiring workflows
  • Post jobs on ZipRecruiter, Indeed, and other platforms
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers
  • Build a steady pipeline of skilled trade talent

 

Onboarding & HR Support

  • Conduct new hire onboarding and orientation
  • Process new hires in Paycom (offer letters, onboarding tasks, compliance documents)
  • Assist with employee records, HR documentation, and personnel files
  • Support HR policies, procedures, and employee relations as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations

 

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of hands-on experience using Paycom ATS (required)
  • 1+ year of recruiting experience, preferably in HVAC, construction, trades, or blue-collar roles
  • Experience managing multiple open positions at once
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume hiring environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • HVAC, skilled trades, construction, or field service recruiting experience
  • Experience with onboarding and HR generalist duties
  • Familiarity with compliance and HR best practices
