Senior Accountant

Southeast Gas has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant at our Corporate Office in Andalusia, Alabama.

Responsibilities for the position include:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Perform account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
• Assist with audits and preparation of audit documentation.
• Analyze financial data and recommend process improvements.
• Collaborate with departments across the organization on accounting and financial matters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements for the position include:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred.
• CPA or CGFM certification preferred.
• Minimum of three to five years of accounting and/or auditing experience.
• Public accounting or audit experience preferred.
• Utility or Oil & Gas industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
