Position Summary
The Campus Store Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and daily operations
of the Westminster College Campus Store and remote retail TG2 trailer. This position oversees retail
operations, inventory management, purchasing, e-commerce, budgeting, employee supervision, and
vendor relationships to ensure the Campus Store effectively supports the needs of students, faculty, staff,
alumni, prospective students, and visitors.
The Campus Store Manager ensures the availability of college apparel, gifts, office supplies, and other
merchandise while creating a welcoming, customer-focused retail environment aligned with the Colleges
mission and operational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Direct daily operations of the Campus Store and remote retail trailer to ensure efficient, high-
quality customer service.
Manage the selection, purchasing, and inventory of apparel, gifts, office supplies, and other
merchandise.
Source and procure college-branded apparel, promotional items, and specialty merchandise.
Create designs for unique seasonal merchandise.
Prepare purchase orders, requisitions, and vendor communications related to procurement
activities.
Manage Campus Store websites and e-commerce platforms, including product listings, images,
content updates, FAQs, and time-sensitive communications.
Hire, train, schedule, supervise, evaluate, and provide guidance to Campus Store employees and
student workers.
Develop staffing schedules and oversee daily operations to maintain appropriate coverage and
service levels.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors, online retailers, campus
organizations, and external business partners.
Process merchandise returns, prepare shipping documentation, and manage vendor credits.
Monitor inventory levels, oversee stockroom organization, and maintain accurate inventory
records.
Coordinate annual physical inventory processes and inventory control procedures.
Assist with budget management, including invoice approval, cash reporting, accounts receivable
reporting, and financial documentation.
Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and correspondence.
Manage commencement regalia operations, including ordering, billing, distribution, returns, and
coordination with students, and trustees.
Develop merchandising strategies, promotional campaigns, and seasonal displays to increase
sales and enhance the customer experience.
Ensure compliance with college policies, financial procedures, and retail best practices.
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the Colleges mission and operational
objectives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of retail management, merchandising practices, and customer service standards.
Knowledge of purchasing procedures for educational materials, apparel, promotional products,
and retail merchandise.
Knowledge of inventory management, retail accounting, and business operations.
Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling procedures, and retail technology.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues.
Knowledge of inventory control processes and annual physical inventory procedures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop preferred.
Experience with ARC Suite, GM2 Merchandise Management, PI Inventory, and INSite web design
software helpful.
Knowledge of UPS shipping procedures and shipping documentation preferred.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing operational needs.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff,
vendors, and external partners.
Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and decision-making.

Demonstrated experience managing or supervising retail operations.
Experience with purchasing, inventory management, merchandising, and financial processes.
Experience hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating employees.
Ability to implement new technology systems and improve operational processes.
Ability to maintain accurate inventory, financial, and operational records.
Ability to develop short-term and long-term goals and implement strategies to achieve
operational objectives.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with diverse campus constituencies.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, move items weighing up to 40 pounds, unpack, and shelve merchandise.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and perform stockroom activities.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while assisting customers and operating retail
systems.
Ability to operate computers, POS equipment, barcode printers, digital signage, and other retail
technology.
