Highway Administrative Assistant

The Town of Middlefield Highway Superintendent Has an Immediate Opening
Administrative Assistant 

Part-Time  $25.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Maintain payroll for crew and self, forwarding to bookkeeper
• Organize and manage mail, email, and other correspondence for Highway Superintendent
• Familiarize self with CHIPS, FEMA, grant agencies; managing grant applications with Highway 
  Superintendent and Town Supervisor.
• Maintain highway department expenses, ensuring invoices are forwarded to Town Clerk in a timely manner
• Familiarizing self with Town Highway health and property insurance, engaging with insurance agents and companies, managing insurance claims
• Organizing and maintaining highway project database
• Maintaining an organized inventory of vehicles and equipment.

The Town of Middlefield is located in the heart of the Leatherstocking Region of New York State. It runs along the east side of Otsego Lake, the beautiful "Glimmerglass" of James Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking Tales. It is a gently hilly area divided by the meandering Cherry Valley Creek and Red Creek as they wind their way to the Susquehanna River.
