Position: Temporary Worker

North Perry Avenue Water District, located in Bremerton, Washington, is hiring a Temporary Worker for a 4-month position during the upcoming summer season. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the essential systems that keep our communitys water supply running smoothly.
Were looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys working outdoors, and is ready to contribute as part of a small, hardworking team. In this position, youll help with a variety of construction and maintenance tasks that support the districts water system, helping ensure reliable service for our customers.
This position reports directly to the Field Operations Supervisor and follows a four-day workweek schedule, Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Benefits and Salary:
- 1-hour sick leave earned for each 40 hours worked
- $19.42 to $24.08/hour / DOE/Q
Example of Duties:
- Assist with the maintenance of facilities such as landscaping, painting of buildings and/or fire hydrants
- Other duties as assigned
Necessary Skills and Abilities:
- Clear and effective communication (including though not limited to oral, written, and electronic)
- Ability to work with others as a team
- Ability to work individually as directed
- Ability to safely operate various power and hand tools
- Effective, respectful, and kind customer service
- Possession of a current Washington state traffic control flagger card can be a plus
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid Washington State drivers license
- Be capable of being insured
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, perform semi-heavy labor possibly in adverse weather conditions, and in emergency situations be able to work any hours of the day or night
