Urgent Care Vet Panama City is an after-hours animal hospital located near the Hathaway Bridge on Highway 98 in Panama City. We offer veterinary services to clients on a walk-in basis including diagnostics, IV therapy, oxygen.therapy, and surgical services every evening, all weekends, and all holidays. Although our doors are open only during evenings and weekends, we are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We are looking for dynamic individuals with skill sets that can be directly applied as Veterinary Triage Clerks/Assistants to join our team. This entry level position is a stepping stone to training as a veterinary technician with Urgent Care Vet. Individuals interested in a career change may find a new path here. The ideal candidates will have a passion for animals, excellent customer service skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and work well as part of a team. Responsibilities include greeting clients and their pets, recognizing situations requiring immediate veterinary medical intervention, facilitating the flow of patients/clients, answering phones, providing general administrative support with record keeping, financial transactions, small animal care, and daily cleaning of the work area. The successful candidate will be organized, accountable, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills, written, verbal, and non-verbal. Candidates with developed character who enjoy challenge and operate from a growth mind-set are likely to be the most fulfilled with this job.

We are hiring for all shifts: days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Employees who work 30 hours weekly are eligible for benefits: Dental, Vision, Life, and Medical Insurances (Employer pays 80% of premiums) and accrued paid time off.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients and their pets in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Recognize situations requiring immediate intervention and initiate appropriate response.
  • Manage the flow of patients and clients through their clinic experience.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain accurate records of client/patient visits.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the work area to OSHA standards.
  • Handle payments and process transactions accurately.
  • Provide basic information about services offered by the veterinary clinic.
  • Complete administrative tasks.
  • Complete housekeeping tasks.
  • Assist with basic small animal care and restraint for interventions/procedures.
  • Lift at least 50 pounds, walk, stand, crouch, kneel, use hands, listen, and visually inspect.
