Join the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) Department of Natural Resources Range, Agriculture and Forestry. Our Forestry program is responsible for the ecological enhancement, economic development, and sustainable use of forest resources of allotted, Tribal trust and Tribal fee patent lands for the CTUIR. You'll oversee the development and implementation of activities and functions to carry out provisions of 25 Code of Federal Regulations. The Inventory Forester supports the CTUIR Range, Agriculture, and Forestry Program by developing and maintaining forest vegetation inventories that inform the overall goals and objectives of the CTUIR. Position collects, maintains, and reports the necessary data to evaluate the effects of current and future impacts to Umatilla Indian Reservation forested lands. The position will also be involved in refining and implementing monitoring protocols related to considerations within the Forest Management Plan and First Foods Mission/Upland Vision.
Requires: Bachelor of Science degree in forestry or closely related natural resource field. Basic knowledge of environmental and cultural resource laws, and willingness to gain expertise. Advanced knowledge of the Geographic lnformation System technologies. A valid driver's license, and must be insurable. lndividual will be required to drive a Tribal GSA vehicle to perform job duties Able to operate mechanical equipment including off road vehicles (ATVs) and chainsaws.
Compensation: $61,305.48-$97,900.08 annual DOE/DOQ, plus benefits package.
