We are seeking a professional CDL A flatbed OTR Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight, and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. This role offers an opportunity to work with specialized types of equipment, including flatbed, step deck, RGN & stretch trailers, contributing to the efficient movement of goods across multiple locations. The position requires a dedicated driver in an assigned vehicle with a strong work ethic and a focus on safety and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport various types of cargo including some oversized and heavy loads requiring specialized logistics
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records
- Follow designated routes efficiently while managing time effectively to meet delivery schedules
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times and any issues encountered during transit
- Assist with route planning to optimize delivery efficiency and fuel consumption
Skill Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with relevant endorsements
- Experience driving tractor-trailers in various configurations desired
- Proven track record in commercial driving with delivery driver experience across different freight types
- Knowledge of route driving best practices and safety protocols
- Strong understanding of truck maintenance procedures and basic troubleshooting skills
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and perform load handling tasks efficiently -- ex. tarps, etc.
